The Solar Trade Association are the voice of solar for Britain, promoting the many benefits that solar has for both domestic properties and the commercial industry. They have also won the business Green Leaders Award 2016.
This year they launched 'Stunning Solar', a booklet to promote how the latest solar rooftop technology can produce aesthetically pleasing installations. Combining design, integrated products and mounting systems, in-roof solar systems produce a beautiful finish that sits flush with the rest of the roof.
Integrated solar panels are becoming increasingly popular, as aesthetics are beginning to play a big part in installations, especially on new build homes. Not only does it look great, but also saves money, as the area for the panels doesn't need tiling or slating! There is a higher demand to incorporate sustainability in these housing projects, and solar is a cheap and easy solution to meet building regulations.
A roof suitable for solar
For some, solar panels are not suited to the roof style, as they can't take the weight of the tiles and the solar modules. In-roof solar panels are a great way of combining solar modules with the roof surface, ensuring complete water tightness.
We have some great examples of how well these systems work with the latest high efficiency black solar modules for both new and older houses. These panels can be mounted in both portrait and landscape orientation, and can be fitted in mid roof or can be aligned with the bottom edge of the roof.
When the installation is complete, the roofing contractors will tile up to the edge of the system, allowing it to sit neat and flush in the roof.
We have carried out a variety of these installations throughout Leicestershire this year. For a free site survey or a chat in more detail, please call Simon on 0116 270 1926
