Almost two miles away from the nearest power supply, the development of a new barn near Nuneaton was difficult. Having been quoted tens of thousands of pounds to provide electricity to the property, Run by the Sun were commissioned to design an off-grid solar system.
A 4.5kWp solar system was designed and installed, together with a battery system to store excess electricity. A Sunny Island inverter was used which is flexible, communicative and reliable for off-grid systems. It intelligently manages and regulates energy flow between the Solar PV system and appliances. The system provides power throughout the spring, summer and early autumn months with a generator providing the remainder of energy required during the winter season.
